  By the time I left, Donna & Andy (the Publicans) and half the the town felt like family. A beautiful country pub in a quiet little country town. So glad I pulled off the highway to see what was around. And those burgers, dear lord. I dare you to try wrapping your chops around one. Make sure to ask about the history of the brick work and the building!

  Unbelievable quality of food at this beautiful little pub ! Well worth a stop over when traveling along the golden highway. I had the thai beef salad which was second to none ! It was the best I had ever had and in a small country town this was very unexpected complements to the chef ! my partner had the steak chips and veggies and she virtually licked the plate clean and she is very fussy about her food and generally hard to please ! The beer was cold and crisp & the service was warm & friendly . The royal hotel Cassilis is one of those hidden gems and im glad we found it and didn't stop at Merriwa as we planned What a delightful establishment I give 5 stars * * * * * and eagerly await our next visit

  The food was fantastic and the beer cold. Everything you want from a rest stop and only a very short distance from the freeway. Well worth pulling over for.
